Who We’re Seeking:

CEI is actively seeking our next rock-star team member: a seasoned senior interior designer to collaborate in a team-oriented environment on highly creative designs for multiple projects.

Are you a senior designer who’s well-versed in working with clients and builders alike?

  • This means you create synergy with those around you, are professional yet approachable, you’re a great communicator, and you can easily pivot from client meetings to working on job sites.

Do you know how to design cool shiz from a client’s perspective?

  • This means you can put your own style aside and listen deeply to the client’s genre and preferences.

Are you a collaborative soul and an independent worker alike?

  • This means you can easily flow with the design direction, then know how to run with concepts whether you’re vibing with others, creating your own designs, or -- as is more commonly the case -- BOTH!

Do you understand and work well with timelines and budgets?

  • This means you’re proficient at staying on task, running a project according to the builder’s timeline, and that you can design within the financial parameters we’re given, and feel confident guiding clients through the selection process.

  • This means you seek to understand the challenges at hand and then create solutions and overcome obstacles in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

This is a remote, contract-based position offering flexible hours and projects that fuel inspiration.

As a passionate and self-driven team member, you’ll play an integral role in leading our team and our clients on a beautiful journey resulting in the realization of dreams.

You’ve gotta love creative challenges and innately believe in upleveling yourself and your skills. You must also be confident rocking your lane, creating unique and beautiful designs, and finding beauty in life’s small moments.

And you’ve gotta love to laugh -- because we believe in infusing joy and fun into everything we do!

What You’ll Do:

  • Participate in new business development opportunities, then assist our principal in bidding on projects that align with our firm’s values

  • Collaborate, engage in, and support our projects from concept to completion

  • Create and manage project schedules

  • Carry out and delegate workflows and task assignments to team members to meet (or exceed) project requirements

  • Source both hard and soft surface items, taking direction from our principal designer and our clients

  • Work with our tech team to oversee the creation of detailed 2D line drawings and 3D photo-realistic renderings, handling all red lines and ensuring accuracy and documentation compliance

  • Update FF&E schedules and budgets

  • Create detailed presentations that beautifully yet effectively communicate our design concepts

  • Collaborate with our build teams and provide onsite assistance throughout the project duration

  • Provide weekly status updates to our clients

  • Correspond directly with vendors, trades, artisans, and installers

  • Identify and communicate project progress, accomplishments, challenges, and support needed via weekly KPI updates to our Principal Designer

  • Create social media content during your workflow, at events and/or continuing education opportunities, etc.

  • Oversee the full design integration process, managing your team’s proficiencies in the overall execution of the design including procurement, installation, and punchlist resolution

  • Coordinate and/or participate in photo shoots and marketing soirees

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced team members

Skills You’ve Gotta Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in luxury residential interior design

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit in a professional setting

  • Proficiency with the full Google Suite of programs (MS Office Suite accepted)

  • Independent judgment, critical thinking skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities

  • Professional and general liability insurances

Extra Bennies That’ll Make You Shine Even Brighter:

  • Proficiency with Asana or Monday.com is preferred

  • Commercial experience in the hospitality industry is a huge plus

  • Tech-savvy with SketchUp, BIM modeling, and/or Enscape rendering programs is desired
