What Is a Builder-Centric Interior Design Firm?

Where Vision Meets Structure

At Creative Edge Interiors, we don’t just design for beauty—we design with builders in mind.

A builder-centric interior design firm is one that understands the language of construction, aligns with architectural plans, and brings a collaborative spirit to the build process from day one.

This approach goes far beyond furnishings and finishes. We work in tandem with your architect and builder to ensure each design element is both breathtaking and buildable—supporting flow, function, and that signature feeling of home.

Because we believe your environment creates the backdrop for

meaningful moments and memories.

Michelle’s Builder Roots

Michelle’s career began in office furnishings until she received a life-changing call from her father, a residential general contractor at that time, who invited her to join his company and help run the firm. She embraced the opportunity, diving headfirst into a new industry and into the world of small business. "It was a huge leap of faith," Michelle recalls. "But I had invaluable skills in sales, customer service, management, and team building, and those were instrumental in successfully navigating this new venture.'

Michelle spent the next few years absorbing the rhythms and realities of construction. From blueprint to bidding to backfill, she was hands-on as a crew member and intricately involved with how each detail played a part in crafting a home to stand the test of time.

This foundation instilled a deep respect for tradespeople and an intuitive understanding of what builders need—clear documentation, smart spatial planning, thoughtful design choices and a humble, collaborative spirit that eliminates friction on-site.

The Creative Edge Approach

To set the table for success, our team bridges the gap between technical execution and artistic expression. During our systematic and thoughtful design process, we collaborate behind the scenes with the builder to ensure the concepts and designs we’re creating align with any financial conversations and scheduling parameters previously discussed with you.

Our builder-centric process also includes dedicated time to work with the build team through the entire project, fielding questions and providing solutions for any challenges that may arise.

Additionally, the Creative Edge design team attends pre-scheduled "dry run" meetings for all major milestone installations at various phases of the project, including:

  • Rough plumbing to confirm all plumbing fixture locations

  • Rough electrical to confirm recessed lighting and decorative light fixture locations, as well as outlet locations and directional preferences

  • Flooring installation to confirm start and stop points, positioning at the front door and in hallways, joint locations, as well as any transition areas to be addressed

  • Wall and tile layouts for flooring, kitchens, bathrooms, fireplaces, outdoor pavers, etc

  • Countertop template meeting with the fabricator

  • Installation of all decorative mirrors

  • Finish the electrical work to hang decorative light fixtures

These proactive measures help ensure a successful project for you -- and your team.

It's the little things that make the difference in how we enjoy life. And it's just part of how we protect your timeline, your investment, and your vision!

Because we believe personalized design is the foundation for a life well-lived.

And we can’t wait to take this journey with you.

In Gratitude and Good Vibes,

Michelle and the Creative Edge team
